The National Chimney Premier Damper Cap is made from heavy duty 24 gauge 304 stainless steel. It has a removable lid for easy access cleaning. The lid is 15% larger, giving more protection from the elements limiting ice and snow build-up even in the harshest weather. It has an insulated lid with 1/2″ thick insulation sandwiched between two pieces of stainless steel. This fortified insulation prevents home heating and cooling costs from escalating by keeping air from escaping through the chimney flue. The National Chimney Premier Damper Cap is sealed tightly with a gasket, and bonded with silicone, both of which are made to withstand temperatures ranging from -85° to 450° F. It is made standard with 3/4″ expanded mesh screen. It also comes with a 50′ pull cable to open and close the damper at a moment’s notice.
